My opinions

Technology: every piece of technology we use now is bloated, clunky, less durable, less fixable and riddled with planned obsolescence. Some companies realized they reached a limit and can no longer make more profit just by increasing sales, and in a culture where shareholders expect infinite growth the only way to please them and profit more is by cutting costs, doing mass layoffs and enshittifying products.

Enshittification: the enshittification of every product in this world is the direct result of shareholder value maximization — and apparently is the fate of almost every company out there after reaching some vendor lock-in or monopoly. This is not even an opinion at this point but an observable fact. Sooner or later each one of them will try to squeeze every last cent out of our pockets and deliver less value in the process.

What was once standard is now premium, and what was once premium is now deluxe or non-existent.

Artificial Intelligence (aka clanker): is neither artificial nor intelligent.

The data used to train "AI" models are produced by humans therefore it's not artificial, if you train an AI with the output of another it will hallucinate harder than a drunkard on acid.

The "intelligent" part is also misleading because defining intelligence is not a trivial task, even after centuries of analysis no one was able to define it in a way that emcompasses its full properties or even allow us to know if it's possible to reproduce it fully through technological means. Nobody knows what intelligence really is and people usually throw that word around to make something or someone look important, it's good for public relations you know — artificial intelligence, business intelligence, intelligent this, intelligent that — and the examples are endless.

Is it useful? Yes, I use it to iterate through technical subjects and ask stupid questions that I wouldn't ask in some random forum or question-answer website, but it's still a clanker. An ingenious statistical clanker, but still a clanker who wastes a fuckload of water and electricity. But if I need a deep well-thought answer I will read a book, article or tutorial written by a human, watch a lecture or interview with a human, or ask someone I know directly.

I don't use it to create content for this website by the way, everything was naturally produced by either the chaotic maelstrom inside my own head or by someone elses (followed by authorship attribution of course). I'm a human, with all the madness and delights that comes with it.

Smartphones: the state of affairs is not good for anyone who needs to use banking, messaging and government apps because there are only two options really — Android or iPhone. Googled Android is an Orwellian device and iPhone is an expensive Orwellian device, both of them riddled with junkware and spyware to steal your personal data and sell it to shady companies and to the government of USA.

The quality of Android will keep falling like most stuff produced by big tech companies who are enshittifying their own products and services in order to profit more. We need more companies that ship smartphones with either ungoogled Android or alternative open mobile operating systems.

Internet: is morbidly obese, even common blogs and websites with text-based content are bloated with a truckload of JS scripts that screws privacy, usability and adds no meaningful value in the process.

Internet also became more bland, bloated with AI slop, and centered around commodification of personal data. It used to be a symbol of a new horizon, a tool that would finally free people from mental shackles, a place of knowledge and creativity, but as time passed it became clear that human social problems are too tough and pervasive to be solved by a mere tool.

Commodification of personal data: one of the worst monstrosities that has been vomited by corporations in the history of internet. It's bad for privacy, for civil rights, for human progress and for us all.

Dark patterns: just another bullshit vomited by corporations as well. A neologism coined by the UX designer Harry Brignull, dark patterns (also called "deceptive design pattern" according to wikipedia) is a user interface created to trick users into doing things like buying overpriced products, sharing more information than they intend to, installing unwanted third-party software along with the main program etc.

Social media: "Social media constitutes an absolute zero grade of the social." — Han, Byung-Chul. The Expulsion of th Other: Society, Perception and Communication Today (p. 3). Polity Press.

The concept of social media by itself is not the issue, the main problem is what it became in the hands of big tech companies:

Big tech social media is designed to manipulate you, reward political lunacy and ruin your mental health in the name of profit.

Microsoft MicroSLOP: Microslop power lies mostly in vendor lock-in and not in quality. Dependence on their products is considered now a serious threat to sovereignty and even bureaucratic hellholes like governments are sparing no efforts to cut ties with them.

Updates:

Windows: became unusable after the deprecation of Windows 7. It wasn't extraordinary but was sane enough to use. Microslop hasn't added anything important to Windows since version 7, they just put a fancy interface on top of the old version along with a bunch of crapware that consumes a lot of computer resources and requires you to create a Microslop account.

We can safely assume that Windows now is exploitative overbloated trash, it turns your computer into a data mining machine for Microslop, reducing their computer costs by making you "share" some of your PC's valuable parts and power to perform their tasks of interest while also getting your private data to increase their profits.

If a digital service or closed-source product costs you no money then you are the product. Guess what, you have to pay for legal copies of Windows and still was transformed into a product by Microslop. They put a digital leash on you and you paid for it.

Afer decades using Windows I'm deeply thankful for not having to use this crap on my personal computers anymore.

Updates:

Google: "Don't be evil"...who the hell wants evil things nearby anyway? Any reasonable person wants goodness around, right? RIGHT?! Well, it seems that google realized that the "don't be evil" code of conduct wasn't good for business like their shareholders expected, so they throwed it away and did massive amounts of corporate turd polishment using algorithms, marketing, and UX design.

Google haven't innovated for a while, and they adopted the same strategy as Microslop: acquire and destroy projects to sideline the competion. They killed so many of it's own projects that someone made a virtual cemetery to keep record of them all (and show you alternative services that you can use in their place).

Updates:

Youtube YouSlop: is drowned in ads and AI slop now. Stupid algorithms that make channels lose viewers and subscribers, community guidelines that encourages the creation of shallow bland content, video ads that lasts more than 2 fucking minutes, ads on the bottom of the video, ads that blocks the area right under the video in the app, ads that blocks the comments section, if you sneeze in front of YouSlop it shows you an ad...ads, ads, AIDS, and more ads.

Oh, did I mention ads that don't stop unless you skip them? And if you don't skip it'll show you another FUCKING AD?! If by any chance you watch videos while your hands are busy and dirty — like when washing the dishes or assembling/repairing stuff — well, too bad.

The name should be changed to YouSlop, SlopTube, AdTube or anything else that match the trash state of that once-innovative-but-now-cursed platform. Considering the googlish mentality behind it, it's not that surprising.

Apple: "Not being Apple" is somehow one of the biggest sources of cope in the tech world, even if you don't like them you're doomed to deal with their bullshit because sooner or later some tech company will try to suck Apple's dick and mimic them. Google is trying to copy them with plans to lock down Android app distribution in september 2026, Microslop tried to copy their UX and hardware requirements with Windows 11, and the list goes on. I never wanted to have an iWhatever, I never used an iWhatever, and I will never waste my time and money on an iWhatever.

Nintendo: talented but overly litigious company that adamantly defend even the breadcrumbs that fall from their table. They use legal proceedings to shut down anything from fan projects and emulators to internet content.

They don't provide viable means to play old NES/SNES games but sue websites for distributing game ROMs that otherwise would be pretty much dead.

They sued a small grocer in Costa Rica named Super Mario, a store that’s been around with that very same name for over 50 years. Don't believe me? See by yourself.

It's an ugly mix of greed and plain pettiness.

Steam: I don't hate Steam, but I failed at every atempt of getting used to it, which leaves me out of the main walled garden of gaming. I'm in the wilderness of electronic entertainment I guess.

Billionaires: They should have ZERO political influence, ZERO control over critical resources and ZERO control over critical economic activities. I don't trust a single word that comes out of their mouths — if they say the sky is blue I look to the sky to be sure.

In an economic system where resources are limited and the value of something is linked to it's scarcity accumulating obscene amounts of money means that you're actually taking it from someone else.

These people have more money than they'll be able to spend in their entire lives, they have access to any luxury money can buy, they won't be able to take anything with them after they die, and yet they want more. It doesn't matter if they're leaving lots of people unemployed to expand their market value, or if they're ruining this planet's environment and depleting it's resources to reach their goals: they want more. It's like cancer cells defending their right to proliferate until they kill the biological environment they live in, it makes absolutely no sense no matter how some people try to normalize it.

The mere existence of billionaires and oligarchs is an outrage.

Donald Trump: Americans indeed descended into madness putting this orange retard in charge. The worst news about USA is always the next one, there seems to be no limits to the amount of damage this fucking bozo can cause to his own country and to the rest of the planet along with Pissrael. It got to a point where every nation in this world is rethinking their relations with USA.

All this shit show feels like a big experiment to try out different flavors of fascist retardation all around the world. If you hear some populist prick in your country advocating magically easy solutions to complex problems be very careful: perhaps the next nation to have a dumb incendiary clown as a president will be yours.
